Blog-hopping has given me a lot of ideas for new authors. Sadly, there seems to be some kind of bizarre electro-neuro-magnetic effect on my brain when I enter a bookstore, and the names of said authors are pulled right out of my head and into the shoplifter-detector-thingies, where they turn into stray electrons and bounce around causing the alarms to go off for random things like having pennies in your purse or your cell phone set to "silent."

That's the theory, anyway.

If I may direct your attention to the upper right hand corner of the blog, you will notice a new list: authors I haven't yet read but I'm interested in checking out. This is my attempt to mitigate the bookstore-door effect.

As you can see by the brevity of the list, as soon as I started writing the list down, the names fell out again. So much for the bookstore-door theory. I don't even need the door.

Help me fill this in. Am I neglecting your faves? Make your case. Leave a recc in comments, I'll take a look at the author's stuff, and if it looks like something I want to try, I'll add to the list.

Please do your part to help eradicate this tragic disorder.

Nicola, I have a huge stack of Suzanne Brockmanns that you are welcome to borrow... She's one of my favorites (though a couple of the more recent ones have been lacking to say the least)

You want a list of new authors? Boy did you ask the right person. I started a 50 new author challenge this year, so I have a bunch of ones I've never heard of, but I can't say if you have or not. I have a couple of lists up at my site that might help in case the links don't show up.

Although some quick authors that I'm currently enjoying (in no particular order):

Jeri Smith-Ready (Wicked Game)
Justin Gustainis (Black Magic Woman) - although I haven't read the book, he's sending me a copy and I was interested in it due to a review by Rhinoa.
Karen Chance (Touch the Dark)
Jane Feather (The Bachelor List and the Widow's Kiss)
Diana Gabaldon (Outlander)
Jeaniene Frost (Halfway to the Grave)
Rachel Vincent (Stray)
Anya Bast (Witch Fire)
Jacquelyn Frank (Jacob)

You have a blog called "Alpha Heros" and you have never read Brockmann? Shame on you!

Hmmm... how about Tara Janzen? She has a rather long series packed full of Alphas.

blueberry- come peek at my blog. It is a big Brockmann fest this month!

Hi Shannon! Tara Jantzen, huh? Is she the one with the "crazy" series? I read one and was... underwhelmed.

Okeysmokes...well, I see you HAVE read Ms. Singh, so I've gotta think here for a second. LOL!

Oh, Karen Chance's books are interesting. :) The Cassandra Palmer series (yes, a series) are a crazy twist on vampires, time-travel, etc.

And of course, Suzanne Brockmann's books are so good. *sigh* Jules Cassidy. I *heart* him. :)

I recommend moving Kresley Cole's "Immortals After Dark" paranormals to the top of the list.
